I'm backing up Two Tower Special Edition. When DVDDecrypter loads up it shows me two PGC files... PGC1 [01:46:31] AND PGC2 [01:46:31] Which one do I choose and why are there two in the first place?
Thanks for the reply sidewinder...I load Vob 1 file from both PGC rips and they both are of the widescreen format. I'm assuming full screen means 4:3 and widescreen is 16:9.
hi, i understand your confusion on this topic as i had pretty much the same problem when backing up LOTR FOTR SEE quite some time ago. iirc those two PGCs were simply duplicates. or in other words, those two PGCs actually played exactly the same video - to the last CellID :) so iirc you can either recreate the exact same structure with the big 3 and a bit of manual editing in scenarist, OR you can simply throw one PGC away, and keep the one you like. hth steVe
It is possible that one of them jumps to another layer to display extras during the movie (ie how the special effects are done etc) then jumps back to where you were (this may be the seamless branching as described earlier, but I don't know about that) You can tell (without watching it to see) by checking for layer breaks in IFOedit the one with the special features will have many layer breaks and the film on it's own will have one layer break. The PGCs are the same length as the other material is simply referenced
The region 2 version has 11 program chains 5 or six of which are the full lenth film 1 hour 42 minutes 11 seconds (shorter due to the reduced frame rate) Decrypter shows only 2 program chains though (as with yours) Anyways title 1 is the film and all the soundtracks
