Ive just done a rip of one of my favorite dvds to get it on my pc. However it has horrible horizontal lines that ruin it. I cant explain what I mean so ive uploaded a sample for you to view. or In pretty much keep all the coced settings at the defaults, I just change the Profile to Advanced Simple 5. Can anyone tell me how to make this look good and remove those horizontal lines?
It's combing.... (it is interlaced) as your clip is 29fps, it may need ivtc to 23 depending on source.

In Gknot im checking the "Field deinterlace" Button under Field Operations. This fixes it but make the avi all blurry half way through. Other than that I have tried what it says in the link but I cant seem to get anything to work. Its in NTSC dvds only, all my pal ones work ok.
"All blurry halfway through" is probably because you set a credits start point there and it's encoding at a reduced bitrate. Some NTSC disks need deinterlacing; some others need to be inverse telecined, which is different. To enable the IVTC checkbox in Gordian Knot, in DGIndex you need to select Video > Field Operation > Honor Pulldown Flags before you create your .d2v file. For films you'll almost always select Force Film and then select None from the Field Operations list in Gordian Knot.
okay I have some questions about what youve said. 1. How do I undo the start point for the credits? 2. "To enable the IVTC checkbox in Gordian Knot" Can you please explain this a bit more. Where is this checkbox? Thanks.
