I suspect I may have solved the mystery of my "use transition effects for menus and tooltips" preference (Display Properties- Appearance- Effects). I keep all that stuff turned off and it keeps magically getting turned back on. If the Reaper installs are doing this and it's a known issue, is there a reason that it needs to be on? BTW- This is the pref which makes unminimizing or opening new windows appear to visually "expand", rather than just immediately busting open (my preferred method). Thanks!

Hello Cauley and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information. I don't think that there is an Option / Preference in Reaper or its install that turns on that Windows setting. I've never seen it happen here. ================================================== ========== Make sure that you purchase Nicholas' excellent User Guide and ReaMix docs too. Worth their weight in gold. v3 User Guide: ... v2 User Guide:.. ReaMix:....... Purchase:.... Distribution:. They will ship it internationally:

Thanks guys! I just double checked and completely wiped all Reaper traces before a subsequent clean install and you appear to be correct (it's still off). It must have been something I launched right around the same time. I'll check the studio machine tonight, but I guess it may be some other app that's resetting it (smells like Microsoft). Thanks Again
