DV video playback file size ?

what kind of file sizes are people experiencing in DV format. Say for a 20minute film reel. Last I checked it was around 8gigs is this correct or has anyone achieved a smaller size. About to convert from quicktime movies to FW bridge I/O. thanks

DV stream is about 3.5Mo/s A movie reel QT DV file is about 4.2 Go gugu
