I am currently running Reason, ReFuse and Pro Tools. So far, everything seems to work as expected, but I've run into a little snag. I'll try to explain as best I can and maybe someone can help me. Okay, I have the two apps talking to each other no problem. I'm creating in Reason and using the Stereo channels to monitor, until I'm ready to record. I pull up the NN-19 sampler with a basic Rhodes sample (1K) and I decide that I want to use a Grand Piano Sample (6K). I try to load this sample and I get an "out of memory" error message. There is NO number with the message. It just says that the CPU doesn't have enough memory to complete the task. It happens every time I try to load in a sample that's over 3k. Not just with the NN-19. It happens with the Synth and Drum Machine as well. I'm running a 733mhz G4 with 896mb or RAM. I've allocated 250mb to PTLE and 250mb to Reason and I haven't allocated any more memory to ReFuse. I STILL get the memory error. What am I missing. Have allocated too much memory to the Apps? Oh, the G4 is SOLELY dedicated to PTLE and Reason. There are no other Apps installed (other than the operating system) Any help is appreciated

Thanks Chompers! Y'know, I didn't even think about looking in the manual first. Call it Human Nature, I guess. I was working on a song all day and dealing with the memory thing. I took a break and checked the DUC to see if anyone else had this problem. Then, I figured "what the heck", I'll just ask. Sure enough you were right. I re-allocated the memory this morning and everything works great! Oh, Leigh, I'm using the updated version that you sent. ReFuse totally rules! Thanx for the help

before we dis my computer, i didn't mention that i'm using a tdm system, so the g3 cpu isn't really doing too much stuff since i have dsp farm cards for all my effects, etc. people are still using old 9600 macs just fine with tdm systems. so without the weight of powering protools, i figure i have sufficient horsepower with the g3 to run reason, and i'm using reason for pretty low-cpu-intensive stuff like playing back a few dr. rex files or a sample or two (no malstrom, etc.). still i'd be very interested to see what memory allocations people are using. ryan [QUOTE]Originally posted by Chompers: G3 233 is pretty slow. hey chompers did you know that sonnet is releasing in august a g4 800mhz with a L 3 cache for pci macs. I have a 9600 with a g3 400mhz and run reason with pro tools. I can do what I need to do with it. I am sure the sonnet card would be a great improvement and it is only 400 dollars.
