??? Have you subscribed to any threads? If so have you unsubscribed? If you never unsubscribe you will continue to get notices every time someone posts to it.

Currently your only subscription is this thread. Do you still get a bunch of mails or has the storm settled?

As you say, I have unsubscribed to all bar this one. Every time I access my pop3 email server it gives me one or two thread replies (from the same last user) sent at the same time 23:50 on 1st June. It looks like the Doom server went crazy at this time and sent me an unknown quantity of these which has flooded my email server. This is the mail I am getting - Hello DVD Maniac, brikin has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Still getting stutter - in the DVD Rebuilder forum of Doom9's Forum. This thread is located at: There may be other replies also, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the board again. Yours, Doom9's Forum team and the error message from my mail server - Task 'mail.virgin.net (1) - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: +OK 2169 bytes' I have registered the error on my Virgin.net customer service site - but knowing what they are like, emails will have been replaced by a superior technology by the time they reply

The servers maillog indicates that there was only one mail sent. The error message you get indicates that your pop-connection is interrupted before the mail gets deleted so I would say that the problem is at your provider. You could try to connect manually and delete that mail or, as you say, wait for the nextgeneration communication system ;)..

Swede, As expected, virgin.net support was a waste of time so I used an internet gateway service to manually clear the faulty message. Not sure what caused the problem but all seems well now. Definitely time to change my ISP to one who actually employs human beings you can actually talk to........
