I am using Movie factory 1 or 2 movies on 1 disk with simple menu. The problem I have is when I get anywhere near 4 gigs the move gives me freezing problems or will not play on my standalone (i have tried about 8 different standalones, same problem) I have read that Movie factory has problems authoring movies with this size of file. Any ideas on how to solve this. I just want to author a couple of movies put them on a disk with a simple menu, no chapters, no movie intro, just straightforward stuff (or so I thought). Can you advise if there is any other authoring prog out there that will allow me to do this. I use Tmpg to encode downloded avi's. Thanks in advance.

u can try SpruceUp, quite cheap and cute to work with. U can go for the big monsters or u can change the media u write to. Some cheap ones have problem on the outer rim causing standalones to hang

ghirl, Could it be a media issue? Does it play well in your burner? I've seen very similar results with some defective media before. At the very end of the movie, it pixelates and jumps or freezes. Found out it was a bad batch of DVD-R media. Maybe everything you're doing is fine, but the disc is defective? Have you tried burning to a DVD-RW? Padre

Thanks for your your replies guys!!! I have used 3 different types of media. datasafe gen3, FWS and white label gen4. i thought I would be safe staying away from the rock bottom of the market. Any idea's what mid priced media is most reliable and where to by in the UK. Thanks again

ghirl, I have used these discs for the past few months, NEVER had a problem. IMHO I think you have an authoring problem, especially when you mention using menus (even simple ones) Have you tried making an Image of you completed work ? I have used DVD Factory for Image burning on several occasions, and not had a single problem, when I have had problems using a Video Title Set structure. HomerJ :)
