so how can we do to keep the menus AND the movie with ifo edit ?

I'm still working on it. It appears that IfoEdit will write a new ifo file to include the edited navigation info for a new menu but so far, I'm having trouble finding an appropriate movie to use for a completely functional menu (one, for simplicity sake, that fits on a single DVD). All I've tried so far have needed to have many of the features pointed to in the menu stripped. So I don't know if the problems are the missing elements or the process itself. I'm also having trouble determining if the VTS information is corrected when sets are broken. I'm beginning to suspect that to use this method is going to result in more complexity than simply modifying the original ifo's. I'll keep posting updates.

I was misunderstood. I get an example. Take "Ocean eleven" Zone 2 PAL , the DVD is a dual layer 9 Go. VTS_01.xx are the movie VTS_02.xx are some bonus VTS_03.xx are other bonuses. Menu is located in VTS_01_0.VOB. I just wish to keep the menu and the main movie , and slash the rest. I don't want to make 2 DVD-R 5. The DVD must begin with the menu , if I press the movie button , movie must begin BUT if I press the bonus buttons I must stay on the same page with nothing to change. Am I clear enough ? I'm working on this and if someone get the answer , tell me :)

tyee, I have IfoEdit crash issues when using the steps in the Doom9 Guide. I had to find another way. And, as it turns out,if you don't want the extras this method is less complex as it eliminates the trash in your ripped folder without a lot of fuss. I still cannot hit "Split it" without having to resort to the taskmanager to unlock my machine. kento, why would you want to keep a non-functional menu? I mean if it's just a matter of wanting to see it, just make it VTS_01_1 and the ifo will be written with the menu as the first chapter. The one time I tried this I ended up with a disk that displayed the menu until I hit the next button which sounds like what you want to do.

OK, using this method multiple, multiple times, after burning the disc it works on my standalone about 1 out of 2 tries. When I re-author a DVD with Maestro that I transcoded with TMPGEnc, it works 100%. Does anyone know a method with Maestro where I can do this easily? (Take the main movie VOBS and just make it play first chapter) Please help. Thanks, fubarduck

I don't understand why you guys are going through such a complicated method. With all the movie files under a single VTS file (VTS_01 etc). You can simply split-->region free--->vts-->pupc and then change FIRST PGC to point to the menu. Tada you keep the menu and you can still play the disc.
