Soounds like you've run out of voices. What system are you using? TDM? LE? Also, how many of your tracks are multichannel?

your right I ran out of voices. Most are stereo tracks. It is TDM. Is there something that will give me more voices in pro tools?

On the mix hardware, you have a maximum of 64 voices. It sounds like you're set to use 32 voices right now. If you go to Setups>Playback engine, you'll see on the left side where you can switch to 64 voice mode. It will take a second DSP chip, but that's the price you pay. Good luck.

I'm not sure what happened but after I use 17 tracks the 18th one and higher are all greyed out and do not play. It must be something simple but I can't figure out what I did. It is PT 5.1 on a mac system. Thanks

Hi Shawn, And there was my answer all along. I forgot I had my 888/24 connected to my mix2 card. I pulled it last week and sold it so I had to set it back up for the adat 24 optical. Now I have my 64 voices back!! I love this forum. Thanks!!
