redigering? haven't heard that one is this just to try and spark a pc vs mac endless debate? or are you really unsure? If your unsure and really want guidance, please let folks know what your needs are.. budget etc.. so you can get an informed and focused response.

You said earlier you had a Windows 10 computer, so you already have a fairly recent PCX. What do you see yourself wanting to record? As you already figured out, your iKeys aint going to get you very far, but if you check out the going all freeware (well almost) thread on here, it will point you at a ton of free VST and VSTi (thata Virtual instruments, which is what you want) Assuming you didnt already buy a "proper" audio MIDI interface to use for playing and recording, it is worth checking out any threads you can find here and elsewhere on buying an interface. DO NOT fall into treh trap of buying a fancy gamers sound card. They are pretty near useless for just music. And of course download and read the free user guide from on here, plus there is a mountian of free tutorial videos out there. Johnny Ginese did some cool ones on MIDI and if you go to Kennymania.com Kenny G has some of the best out there for reaper.

I use lots of 3rd party plugins and there are some problems on reaper osx in this regard so if you only want to use reaper as main DAW and use external pluginsthis is a consideration. Other than that I've had no problems on osx and people seem to like it on win too.

I started with Mac (G4) and Protools almost 20 years ago. When I found I'd have to purchase a new Mac computer in order to update to the latest Protools I switched to a Dell PC I already owned and Reaper and never looked back. No glitches since then. None! The combo of PC, Windows, and Reaper has worked flawlessly for about 3 years now. BTW, I had only owned the dual PowerMac G5 for a couple of years before finding out I'd have to replace it to update to the latest Protools. If I were going to upgrade at all I might have Sweetwater Sound build me a dedicated recording computer and stick tight with Windows and Reaper. Being a solo home recordist I can think of no good reason whatsoever to go back to Mac and Protools. It's been my experience Reaper is highly compatible with Windows. I've had no issues at all since making the switch and would do it again in a heartbeat.
