MIDI Editor Timebase Option

It would be extra helpful to have the option to set the timebase to synced as the default for all MIDI items. In my case, i'll never open a MIDI item and ever want it unsynced to the main timeline. But, for those that like MIDI items to start off with the Timebase set to beats, they could set that up in the preferences Menu potentially. As a heavy MIDI user in Reaper, it would save me a lot of trouble if I could just have the option to have all my MIDI items come up synced to the main timeline.

I'd second that. Btw. can anybody elaborate about the 'time' vs the 'beat' sync modes? They don't look or behave different from each other as far as I can tell. I'd surely like to know what they are for.
