Rear seat belt wont come out!!

As title....850 est.. It failed the mot today because that and a front tyre.... But when I say wont come out....the metal piece that you click into seat itself, wont come out from the top of the seat. But...when you tilt the seat forward, the belt goes kind of loose, but when you shove it back intp place the seat belt's like a guitar string....anyone any idea's..

you'll have to swing off the belt to get the necessary travel to unlatch them, Can't believe the garage couldn't do that!!! Give it a go then have a go at the garage. I would pull at the top first to take up any slack in the reel then pull from the bottom with one hand and try and feed the belt with the other hand and hopefully it should be enough to un-latch.

The guy did try, as he know's me....but couldnt get it..

I've just edited the previous thread to try and explain, just be smooth with it as any jerks will re-latch it even tighter

Georgey.....you can do it smooth as you like....it wont budge!

Sounds like your gonna have to take it to bits to free it up, try pulling up the seat base and un-bolting the belt and letting it retract a bit and then pull it.

I did....but I also dont have to unbolt it, as it goes loose anyway when it's folded forward, but it wont retract when the seat's forward either.

my drivers seatbelt does the same. if its jammed, tug, tug, tug and tug with very fast jerking, it will come free then pull it right out slowly until you feel it stop. try not to pull it too hard when nearly fully out. its a starange tecnique to explain, but it will come free. once its fully out, slowly feed it back in, all the way out again, then back in. post your result
