I don't mean t be rude, just showing my ignorance but I can't see what the point of the exercise is. What does it do sound wise that can't be done with one EQ? I use parallel amp sims on separate tracks to good effect so this might be a space saver if it works but I want them panned about 40% either side, but I'm not sure it's not an unnecessary complication. This looks a bit advanced for the noob section to me, but hey what do I know :o

Yeah that's what I thought, it's just for example, I do much the same thing but I use folders instead, for example I have all of my drums in a single folder tucked out of the way, which I find quick and easy. I'm not disputing your workflow, I just wondered if I am missing something, I probably am missing some advanced features in the use of channels, but what you are describing seems to be easily enough achieved with folders.

Or, why not just send your track to two different FX tracks?
