Now that I had a complete day to mess around with the new logic 6.1 I am running into major problems with the sound shutting off unexpectedly. I know others have reported that same problem. I did a fresh install and I didn't bother to have the digi coreaudio installed (I doubt this matters much since you are able to switch of coreaudio within logic). I have the latest DAE with coremidi support, protools 6.0.1, and osx 10.4.2 (this is what digi recommends) . POSITIVES: The coremidi timing is finally accurate. OMS was horrible under os9. My INDIGO arp is finally synced with my exs24 sampler drums (in os9, the timing was awful- I had to use the time adjuster plugin just to get both of them in sync). Esb works splendid (Although I really hoped for increased esb channels. Four stereo channels is simply not enough.) My logic control works great alongside my evolution usb 361 controller keyboard. The launch time of tracks seem to be twice as fast. NEGATIVE: As I mentioned, the sound just cuts out and requires a complete restart of the computer in order to relaunch logic with sound. Everytime the sound cuts out, I will quit logic and attempt to relaunch. Relaunching logic audio will cause osx to freeze (bringing up a screen saying to restart). If anyone here can get 6.1 working without sound shutting off please report your setup here. When I first installed 6.1 before updating to the coremidi supported DAE, everyhting seemed to work fine. Going back to the previous dae is not an option for me because I am dependant on my indigo tdm. Hopefully digi will be able to fix this quick enough so we all don't have to go back to os9.
UPDATE: I turned off my logic control (which is hooked upto my mac via the AMT8) and I just left my evolution keyboard hooked via usb and everything seems fine so far after an hour. No sudden crashes or sound cutting out. It doesn't make much sense that my logic control could cause the sound to cut out, but even when I used logic control without my evolution keyboard, I still had the same problems with the sound shutting off. I'm going to mess around with it more tommorow. If any of you logic users can't get it to work, please post what your setup is. If you do a fresh install with protools 6.0.1, the latest dae, osx 10.2.4, and don't install coreaudio or hook up logic control- you should be able to run it smoothly.
Hmm, sorry to hear about your problems... I have a rig here running Logic 6.1, PT 6 (with latest DAE) on a dual 1.25GHz - OSX 10.2.6, and Logic Control. I haven't had any problems with sound cutting out due to the Logic Controls. Hopefully we can nail down what's causing your problem.

UPDATE: I'm still having sound cut-cutoffs even without logic control. If my mac goes to sleep and I wake it up, logic automatically shuts down. Same goes for when I have ichat on. If an incoming message comes in, logic just quits. DSS: yeah I have the latest DAE installed KEN: I'm glad to hear that your setup is running fine. I'm wondering if i chould jump to osx 10.2.6. Out of curiosity, do you have the core audio driver installed?
Sleep is not supported with digi cards / hardware. Read documents / read mes etc Turn off sleep funtion. You can still have the monitor to sleep but not the whole system. System sleep dose not work and will only cause you problems.
Panks for the suggestions. In os9, my computer could go to sleep and I was able to resume my logic track no problem. As for the sleep functions, you are right, the best thing to do is to turn it off. Despite this, however, I found out another thing that is causing my sound to cut out. When I move around my es2 plugin (on the native dtdm side) , the sounds cuts out too.
