What the hell is this?

I noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet on the NS so i stopped to have a look and noticed smoke piling out of this It looks like its bolted to the top of the turbo, anyway i took it off cleaned it up and put it back on about two weeks ago. This morning i noticed the smoke again and on inspection found the pipe that goes into it has gone brittle and developed a 1 inch crack. I think it might be time to do the PCV system but on the guides on this forum this part does'nt seem to appear anywhere. The pipe that has cracked leads to the charcoal emmissions filter thing under the NSF headlight. Will i need to change that aswell. Any help is much appreciated.

mmmm, ive never seen anything like that attached to the top of a turbo and on an 850 t5 the evap canister (charcoal) pipework goes no where near thje turbo, its all at the front of the vehicle. wayne

This looks like the SAS valve I have just had replaced olong with the associated air pump and relay. If you put"air pump" into the site search engine all will be revealed! You will need the bank loan:hissyfit:

Hey Ripsta - can I make a dumb suggestion? Why not just :Banane35: replace the hose? It seems to be the real faulty component. I have a very bad habit of making more out of things than they are. I work on my own car to save money, but why does it cost me so much? Cheers - Peter.
