I tried it, but it didn't work I get the unknown exception error followed with the mmx error (depends on whether I try to play the file or use the slider). BTW I tried this with avisynth 1.0 Beta 6 as well. I've also tried to open the file usind cce 2.5 (trial) which I used to be able to do, but now I can't. You're right we should ask for this thread to be moved to avisynth forum. Thanks much for trying to help me, I really appreciate it.

We have to know whether it is a problem of your avi or AviSynth. Load your avi in VDub, do a direct stream copy (or recompress it with Huffyuv for example). Try it again with your script pointing to your new avi.

@wilbert the problem is in my aviasynth or system config. The avi is fine as it played before and will play in media player if I switch to directshowsource instead of avisource. I've tried opening other avis usin avisynth in both vdub, media player and even cce and it crashes for each so it's not the avi. I can try this suggestion too, but it won't get me anywhere I think. Shoul I try it anyways?
