Hello, Just wanted to inform you all that the last 2 years that I'm using Reaper as my main tool for processing audio whatever I do from Music production to Sound Effects Design, I'm more than pleased, in fact I consider it one of the best application ever created. One of my professional acts is to teach in a big School of Audio Engineering here in Greece, not only big in this country but also in a world wide level, no need to say that when I first opened Reaper in front of a big classroom the students panicked as this was not their everyday usual sequencer, and they asked me why I used it? Apparently I have a foul collection of original software in my studio and also many plugins and instruments, as I was an editor for some years in a music technology magazine here in Greece, so the students asked me why I use this sequencer, and many of them didn't know its existence. To make the story short, for the students also, I just showed them some of the clever action Reaper has to boost production, aux send lists, routing, editing and many more we all here know to well. The students went nuts! 10 of them promised to try it, and not only that, 7 of them the came the next day with smiles on their faces. They have been converted to happy users! On the last 3 months I also installed Reaper in 3 Recording studios and 2 Project studios together with countless musicians that I visited and gave them a nice tour. They all work happily and make music without the need to troubleshoot every day, they are now returned to the happy land of music making. :-) There is also a nice thing that happened, as in rehearsal with my band, the other guitarist (Happy Reaper User - we can call them HRUs from now on) received a phone call from another teacher in the second largest College of Audio Engineering in my country, the teacher also a good friend of the band wanted to know if there was a skype connection in the studio (there was) for my friend to connect and show some Reaper tricks to the classroom through team-viewer, that was awesome experience as we got interrupted on our rehearsal from a teacher in the middle of the teaching hour and connected through the internet to show Reaper to some young Audio Engineers. They where asking for that so strongly that this virtual lesson seemed mandatory, hehehe! How about that! The months that are coming I'm planning a big Reaper seminar in the Audio Engineering College I teach and I guess there will be many new users coming this great application's way. All I want to say, is a big thank you to the developers of Reaper for giving me and all of my associates a great tool to work, if you like to hear some music already made completely in Reaper check out our Promo in , there is an LP coming and we are thrilled to make it with Reaper. Also Reaper is the major creation tool behind the game I'm designing sound , and you can find more projects in the future in (now in development). Those links are not for personal showing off or something, just to show one more time everybody in this forum something we already know, that Reaper is a great professional tool made from people that love sound for people that love sound! Thanks to all!
Hi Joystick, that's a really cool story, you have the chance of actively help spreading Reaper around. I guess this is the best marketing that JCS could hope for... maybe they should think about some kind of volume edu license program... - Mario
That is very interesting, I was a supervisor myself on the beginning of my carrier in teaching audio engineering around 2000. I was head supervisor for 3 years in SAE Athens. :-) Keep up the good work!
