Rule 9 of the forum rules state do not use special characters to draw attention to your post. Title edited. What are you doing? I assume an AVI, but we are not mind readers. We really need more info. If it's really a codec issue and it's missing there is no way for us to know what it is. We can't exactly see the file. Do a search for a program called avicodec. The link is somewhere in one of the other forums, but I can't remember which one. Just do a search of all the forums. This program will tell you what codec the avi uses and if it thinks your system has the needed files. If it doesn't it suggests a website to look at. Mark
It's highly unlikely to be a codec if it's from a DVD. What did you use to rip the DVD? If you ripped with anything other then the included rippers then redo the entire rip and conversion from the beginning. If you used internal routines the first time try vstrip and vice versa. Mark
I used the programm Smartripper. this program do i use for solong, i have no troubles what so ever. I have a new setup of windows 2000 because it was crashed. after that i have this problem. And the hole conversion in 3 minutes is possible. because it is a small THX demo movie. But i have the same problem with larger movies.
These demo's are problematic. I have not known anyone to be able to convert it correctly. We do not have "Don't use external rippers" in the Q+A for nothing. In the future if you have a problem do not post it until you have ripped with Internal Routines. We do not support outside rippers here, whether you have never had a problem or not. Mark
I know you say that, but..... I've tried it first with the internal ripper, but it's the same problem. Only sound and not any moving picture ( only black screen.) That's when i tried a external ripper, but no differance. When i've ripped a whole movie, the end result is 2 discs. 1e disc ==> 247 MB 2e disc ==> 28 MB He's converting only sound. That problem have i with ...CCE,...TMPGenC and Procoder. I've tried everything, but nothing.....
I will reiterate my statement. These demo's are problematic. I have not known anyone to be able to convert it correctly. Nobody can seem to convert these. edit: I do agree with the post below though. Post your Avs file. It might be worth a look. Mark
Post your AviSynth_Script_file.avs script. I had a very similar problem and it turned out to be something wrong with the avisynth script. Also play the encoded *.mpv file and see whether there is any error messages
