Oil seal

I have during the past 18 months,changed the front crankshaft oil seal twice,and it is leaking yet again.The first seal I used was not from Volvo but the second was. Am I missing something ? I know the flame trap on the 700 series can block and cause oil leaks ,how about the 940 2liter Turbo? Regards Mike

Hi, Yes, you have a similar "Crank Case Ventilation System on the 900's. If the system beomes blocked, then there will be a build-up of pressure on the system. That can cause an oil leek and perhaps also premature failure of the seals.. You should, when changing the seal again, make sure to clean out the vent system as well. Des. . . ;)
