The menus are usually in video_ts_1_0.vob [I don't have a DVD drive in the computer in front of me for the next 3 weeks, so that file name format may not be correct, but look for the menu vob to be in ~0.vob in the titleset that contains the main movie.] Use SubRip to get the subpictures and a VOB splitting program [VOBrator or the like] to get the video [or stills] that make up the menu navigation. I'm not trying to offend you or be rude or anything like that at all, but this information could be found using the search function of the forum...maybe you're new and didn't see it, but in the future, remember to check it out first...there's lots of info in here... In terms of buttons, you'll probably have to redefine the highlight area for them [well, that's what you'd do in Scenarist...not sure about Maestro.] Dan

Just split the 0 vob of your vobset into cells with vobedit, and then demux all the streams with vobedit, stills will come out as m2v files, i find ATI multi meda center ideal for being able to take a snap shot of the file, so you can then load it as a bmp. You just have to be quick on the draw..

Though Yohudi's post pretty much takes care of your question [and some], I'll post this just to make sure I'm not wrong about this [I'd rather not give wrong or incorrect advice in the future...] Sorry about telling you to search the forums, I had thought there was a thread dealing with this, but it was focused exclusively on extracting the subpictures... . My fault. In regards to using VOBrator and Subrip to do this... In VOBrator can't one choose which VOB-ids to rip and demux? With each ID representing a different menu screen [as you know], this would give you the m2v's and audio [if it's there] for the IDs you're interested in, motion and all. Just make sure you have demux selected. When you first use it, the interface isn't terribly great, but the way I do it is to make the entire contents of the VOB unselected, then select video and audio in the IDs in which I'm interested, demux and go. I normally include just the video and audio, not anything else hiding within the ID. If there are still menus, you could use your player program to play the m2v, then pause and take a screenshot. In Subrip, couldn't you load the ifo file for the menu and either manually or automatically extract each subpicture? I don't mean to sound sarcastic or rude or anything like that, it's just that I thought I had [at one point] ripped a menu apart using this method, but maybe my memory is failing me and someone just needs to tell me, "Dan, shut up, you're wrong." Or, I may be just misreading your question, but it seems pretty straight-forward. I'd test this myself, but I won't have a computer that has a DVD drive and the software in front of me for another 3 weeks. Thanks and someone please tell me if I'm making this method up or if it actually works... Dan

When you have demuxed the menu vob into seperate cells vobs, you just load these into subrip to get your menu subpics, no ifo needed.
