Today i have been taking a look through the WDL code in general. First I two spaced indentation... posted about some other issues, and thoughts about it. In principle i generally don't like when stuff like swell gets developed. Even though I understand why it happens. Also here the actual meaning of swell (thought it was interesting :P) SWELL: Simple/Small Win32 Emulation Layer for Losers (who use OS X)

Since SWELL was already used for the OSX port, has anyone considered using GNUStep along with SWELL for the Linux port? GNUStep applications can, in many cases, already be compiled to run natively on OSX. Essentially, I am wondering if there is a way to leverage the existing OSX port of Reaper to build the native Linux version?

A native Linux version of REAPER would be great. With more serious VST-capable DAW software running on Linux, more professional plugins for that platform might get developed, too. Ardour isn't really usable - even the latest version 4.1 is a pain in the ass, but Bitwig was a pretty good start, and it would be awesome to add a widely accepted traditional DAW like REAPER to the list. Come on guys, I'm sure it can be done. 25 - 30 years ago I would most probably have done the port myself. :)
