Hello, I am a bit frustrated. Every time I go to use my Screensets, I hit the F7 button, F8, whatever. It switches the first time I hit a function button, but then I can't just cycle through them (i.e. F7, F8, etc) - I have to, like, click on the track panel, or main window, "activing" something, then I can hit another function key for another Screenset. Is it supposed to be like this? I was trying to just cycle through my Screensets, but every time I want to switch from one to another, I have to click 'away' onto the screen, before hitting the next function/shortcut key. Is this correct behavior? Also, I noticed a lot that, say I open F7 Screenset. Then, I decide to say, alter the Screenset(but NOT SAVING it) - and so I close the floating Media Browser window. I then change Screensets to F8. Then go back to F7 - and it no longer shows the Media Browser? It like, overwrites my saved Screenset with the last activity I did on that Screenset? Can I undo this? I want F7 to always show "exactly" my saved Screenset, regardless of whether or not I have since closed a certain window/altered the Screenset since it was opened. Can't this be done? :( Please help me make sense of this. The second issue I have is far more pressing than my first, but both are still issues for me and my workflow. Thank you so much everyone. Ben

Hmmm...ok thank you for that! Yup, can confirm here that I definately have to click on the main window/track panel area to "trigger" or accept the current Screenset, before being able to hit another function-shortcut key for a different Screenset. Also, can you help me with my second issue? Try this please; open a screenset. Then, say, close a floating window, or X out a tabbed window from the dock. switch screensets. go back to the one you just "closed/altered". does it remember those recent changes, or actually open the SAVED screenset (ie. defaults back to what you saved, not reflecting the current changes you made by closing a window, etc?) Thank you! :)

Yeah, in both cases it goes back to the way I saved it. Tried "un-docking" a tab - making that window floating - then switched & switched back, and the window was back to being tabbed in the dock. Also tried "x"-ing out tabs from the docker, switched & switched back, and the tabs were back where they belonged. I'm still on 3.74, so if you're on something other than that it could still be a glitch. Oh, and my SWS extensions is version 1.8.6 from Jan 18, 2011. I suppose that could affect it as well. I can't think of what else would, though.

Pretty sure that having to click somewhere to continue changing screensets has to do with the "Last focus" option when you save screensets. If you recall a screenset that was saved with the focus on a part of Reaper which doesn't pass through your screenset key commands to the main window (say a plugin gui or the Media Explorer), you won't be able to continue using these commands for changing screensets until you set the focus to a section that does. I leave "Last focus" unchecked when saving screensets. Anyone else feel that the Media Explorer section of the action list should have "Pass through key to main window", like MIDI Editor has? That would workaround this problem, at least for screensets saved with focus on the Media Explorer. EDIT: I haven't seen a crash when recalling screensets yet. Can you describe (upload a screenshot of the screenset plus the "save screenset" dialog of) one that crashes for you? If this is in v4 alpha only, please do that in the v4 alpha bug reports thread.

I'd like to use it for a MIDI Editor screenset. But that's out of Reaper's MIDI paradigm. No MIDI Editor without opening one first :o.
