Headlights

Hi guys, A bit cheeky as its my first post, but i am after some info for my parents 1996 S40. My parents always complain about their headlights being p00 and cant see anything as the light is too dim. They have recently put rally bulbs in and it has improved slightly. My question is when did Volvo release the s40 with clear glass headlights? and would they fit a 96 model? Thanks Merry Christmas

Thanks for the replies guys, I have also found this item on Ebay and its says this unit fits the 96 model.

Bear in mind though newbos that while the newer units do physically fit in the older models, the wiring is considerabley different due to the use of two lamp units in place of one. This is not a simple swap and plug job. There are plenty of threads on this site showing the job, and I would recommend reading all of these before you decide on a course of action.
