C70 alarm issue

I purchased a 2001 c70 2 weeks back. I'm loving every moment driving it!!! But I'm worried about when its parked up. For the first few days when I pushed the lock button on the fob, the indicators flashed and the red led flashed. BUT the last few days the indicators have not flashed and the red led doesn't start flashing. The doors still lock and then dead lock, but I'm worried the alarm may have switched off some how? This is my first volvo so very lost at the moment, I would be greatful for any help.

Yes, your alarm is NOT arming, the indicators flash to show you the alarm is activated. First thing, you need to check that everything (including the bonnet) is properly shut. If that doesn't work, then a common cause of this problem is a dodgy microswitch in one of the locks, usually the boot.

^ what he said. If you open the boot and lock the car the lights will not flash until that particular door is shut. You have a dodgy switch somewhere. lock the car and shake each door/boot/bonnet whilst watching the indicators

cheers for your response. I just tried what you said with no luck. When I press unlock all the indicators flash twice. Is this norm if the alarm is switched off?

Bingo! I tried the doors etc again and it was the bonnet! Thanks for your help!:thumbs_up:
