Automatic Fades

Hi, Every time I perform a punch-in or similar action, like a split section, Reaper automatically throws in a miniature fade out and fade in on each side of the split. Then I have to go back and manually slide them back to zero. Is there a way to make the program stop doing that? It is annoying. Thank you

1.go to preferences 2.in Project section click on Media Item defaults 3.turn off create automatic fades a little hint: you can type "fade" in preferences search bar and browse more options about fade or any keyword.

Hi In preferences, go to project>media item defaults and uncheck the first item 'create automatic fade in....'

Hi, can be done via an action. Go into action list on search for "Item: Disable default fadein/fadeout". btw. I've put the related action "Item: Toggle enable/disable default fadein/fadeout" on a toolbar button because I change this quite often (depending on what / how I edit), saves from going into action list every time to change it.

Thanks nofish, I spend some time on this. I think this action should be renamed to match the Preference label.
