Hi, got nothing from the PTLE forum, thought I'd try the MIDI forum. How can I insert a controller 120(all sounds off) and 121(reset controllers)??? When I try I get a message that the maximum value is 119!!! Are those controllers not supported by PT? PTLE 5.1.1 Mac OS 9.2.2 Digi001 JV-1080 A3000 Ben

Well, looks like you're right. I thought it might work if I entered in the controller command in the MIDI Events Window but that was a no go as well. Then I tried recording the command to a track from an external controller and Pro Tools wouldn't even record the MIDI data. Funny, because the Pro Tools Reference Guide specifically says that controllers 0 - 127 are supported. Perhaps this is an issue we should bring to DIGI's attention.

Thanks for your time Jason. At least I know I'm not alone! Whenever I find something I'll post back. Ben

OK, I wrote to Digi and here's what they replied: "Thank you for contacting Digidesign Technical Support. You can not enter a controller value above 119. I'm not sure what the reasoning is for this. But I can enter this a feature request. Best regards, Digidesign Technical Support" This doesn't make any sense to me!!! Having to reset every controller 1 by 1....Well...This is my first bad impression about PT. Still like it a lot but &#@!#$%#!!!... So it's impossible to insert any of the following controllers: 120 All Sounds Off 121 Reset Controllers 0 122Local Control On/Off 0 or127 123 All Notes Off 124 Omni Off 125 Omni On 126Mono On 0-16;0=omni off 127 Poly On 0

I wrote again to complaint and here's what I got for an answer: "Thank you for contacting Digidesign Technical Support. Controllers above 119 are considered system status messages instead of standard controllers. You currently cannot add these controller values as a parameter that you can automate within Pro Tools. The MIDI controllers that are available is what would normally be used while sequencing. I will enter this as a feature request. And its possible that this may be added in a future release. But at this time there is no way to use these controller values." What can I say, beside that I'm pi$$ed off!
