Hi, so i've been using reaper for months till now, and it has been perfectly fine, but now, whenever i have one track already recorded, i disarm it and arm a new track to record two guitars at the one time, it records what is coming off the first track onto the second track as well, and makes it sound really scrappy? Im wondering if there's any way to fix this.. thank you :p

Right-click the round red button on the track (record arm button) to get up a menu, and there, make sure your recording settings are as you want them. Next, click the track's IO button and make sure there is nothing under Receives. If there is, delete it.

If you are getting the incoming gtr signal then that track I/O is obviously set to the input... Look at the manual for your audio interface too. There are likely 'cuemix' or 'zero latency monitor' features. Your output could be getting routed to the input at this point depending on settings.

All i use it for is to play guitar on one track and record another guitar track over that, this is a picture of how all my settings look etc..

have a look in the PDF manual page 55(section3.5) :) everything you need to know is there, (well almost everything!!) you can download it from " download" at the top of this page, & at the top right hand corner just under the main REAPER download! ENJOY :)
