Ok even more weirdness. I completely recreated the project. I tried the sends on several tracks in their "newly imported state" and all of the sends worked just fine going to a new track. No issue at all. I then imported a mix snapshot (minus the sends- thanks for that tip) from my old project. Tried the same test. Again all the sends I tried ( several tracks) worked. The snapshot did not nest my tracks in their proper folders ( I use this extensively in my projects) so I did that. I then tried my sidechain setup to duck the bass with the kick and... no signal to the compressor. I tried a couple of plugins and again no signal to the sidechain. However, I routed the same tracks to a new track as before and there is signal. I tried several different tracks and they all sent signal. I setup my parallel compression for my drums and it worked like a charm. Why the hell will it send signal to a separate track but no signal is received in a sidechain compression setup? I set it up just like the test setup I uploaded for examination but it won't work. Why? It makes no sense. There is something I'm missing but I have been meticulous in the tests I've attempted. I need this to work. I have recreated the project 3 times now and I still can't get it to work right. It is as if channel 3 and 4 are dead. Anybody have any idea what would cause that?

Thanks richie43 for pointing me in the right direction. In my last post I left off noting that it seemed as if channels 3 and 4 were dead. As I pondered that I remembered that a plugin I added a couple of days ago (Metaplugin) had for some reason opened 8 channels. You can combine multiple plugins with Metaplugin and do some creative routing within it. The plugin created 8 channels for routing on the input and output and you can do a cool drag and connect thing to connect the ins and outs. I deleted the plugin and made sure all of the tracks it was on were reset to 2 channels. I then tried my sidechain setup and presto! it worked just as it always had before. I'm pretty sure if I'd routed 3-4 within the plugin it would have worked as well. But since I can just setup the plugins separately I'll leave well enough alone. Thank you everyone for your help!
