When I setup the test the damned thing worked! lol. I guess my project file has gotten corrupted somehow. Here is the .RPP although there isn't really anything to work on. SMDH. Any clue as to how I can fix my current project without having to start all over? Maybe if I save the file under a different name? Like I said, It's weird.
I don't how or why this happens, but I have had tracks or fx in tracks "break" like this. Rare, but it has happened to me. I have fixed it by rebuilding the tracks and resetting the fx and routing.
I don't think it's any single track. I tried to set up the side chain on several different tracks with the same results. I wish I could transfer my tracks and folders exactly as they are now to a new project. You wouldn't happen to know how that could be done would you? We are talking about 30 something tracks all nested in different folders.
Well this is killing me. I tried the track template route. Same issue. I tried saving a mix snapshot and applying it to a new project with the tracks manually imported. Same issue. I then started over and rebuilt the project exactly like my original. Everything was working fine. Sends are feeding parallel compressor tracks and reverb and delay tracks without issue... but when I try to setup my sidechain to duck the bass with the kick, I have the same exact problem. Here is the weird thing. I routed a send to a new track and there is no signal from the original track to the new track. There should be a pretty hot signal going there and the meters do not budge. Remember, I have several tracks routed to separate track for parallel compression and reverb... and they are ALL still working fine. But if I add a send to that new empty track ( no FX ) there is no signal at all going to it. I tried this on several tracks, all with the same result. I routed from tracks with no active sends and from tracks with active (and working sends) and the new send feeds no signal to the new track. WTH! Does anybody have any ideas? It can't be project corruption like originally believed. This is an issue with new sends and only new sends. How can this be? I am going to deleted all the sends and see if I can recreate them again.
Well I just saved a new version of the project and then deleted all the sends. I then tried to route a send to a new "empty" track and there is no signal. Somehow the sends and the sends only got broken along the way. How?! This is beyond frustrating. How can the sends work and then BAM at a certain point no new sends work? The sends on these same tracks were working fine and remained working but at this arbitrary point every track makes sends that send no signal. I have spent a good while on this project and I was getting pretty close to finishing all the tracking. I make rough mixes along the way as I add new tracks. It was sounding really good and now?... I can't go any further if I can't create new track sends. It just won't work. I have worked in Reaper off and on since 2012 and never had anything even vaguely like this happen.
Are there any fx on the kick tracks? If so, have you tried removing those to see if the "broken" sends are still broken? I was just thinking that maybe the "break" is coming from a plugin....
