Hi, so without a manual, and with the pictures I had taken before I swapped a dead engine for a new (used running) one deleted (thanks fiancees mom) I am now pretty complete on getting everything hooked back up from memory. The two areas in which I need guidance are on the ignition coil and the wires that connect to it and the vacuum connections I know for the most part i am getting wrong. I have attached pictures to help illustrate my predicament at the moment and hopefully someone will be able to assist.... This is an 82 240 DL A-E- need to know if the all connect to ign coil and which wire to which tab.... F & G- i know one goes to idle regulator but which and where does the other go? H- there is a male tab connection from the battery and I'm assuming it connects here to this junction on the drivers fender. I- under the intake there is a stray pair of orange wires, do they connect to the knock sensor? J & K- two stray connections on the firewall... L- On the ignition control (i think) there is what looks like a vacuum manifold and i think perhaps it connects to the fuel regulator? M- I may have looped this connection back into something else but it is a pair of white and orange wire with a male terminal (i think) and i plugged it into the only stray female... N- This one I think i got right. Oxygen sensor? A & B- These connection i need help with, B is vaccum but to where? And where does A go? Thanks! Nate

You can find a lot of information on older models here: and go to 'Greenbooks', where you'll find the wiring book, and others

Don't have direct experience with mid or late production 200's but the vacuum accuator L appears to be similar to a vac advance on a distributor. Based on that alone I would agree that the module it is attached to is the ignition electronics module, and that it is providing vacuum feedback for ignition timing. In that case, it should ultimately be tracable to a small bore vacuum port on the intake manifold, but may pass through t pieces etc to get there. Similarly, if the fuel pressure reg is vacuum dependant, the vacuum line would trace back to a similar port, possibly via the same t piece. From general experience, I suspect that the oxy sensor would be correct.
