Hi guys, Is it possible to 'solo safe' a track in reaper? I Googled it and came up with nothing. As ever 'thanks' for any feedback :) P.

I had to google 'solo safe' to find out what it was. It's apparently used on a track which you don't want muted when you solo another track, eg when the solo track is sent to an auxiliary track before it hits the master fader. I don't know if that specific scenario pertains to what you want to do, but my experience is that Reaper does this by default. Soloing such a track would not usually mute a track which it was sending to.
Right click the solo button, near the bottom is "solo Defeat" :) also you can "control+shift" it too. It's also great for setting up headphone mixes (which is great as you can control the mix via the receives box on the track your sending to). You might also be talking about "solo in place" which should keep any send tracks (fx returns etc) also soloed which might be what your after :)
just had the same question :) and I should have figured that "right click" is your friend. I have another one tho, is there such a thing where if you hit solo on a track it won't silence other tracks but just lower /"dim" their volume by hopefully an amount that can be configured somewhere ? thanks
Also you can connect a midi controller knob to alter the volume of the Safe solo which is super cool (search for 'Adjust solo in front dim' in actions) I can click on solo for any track and then adjust the volume of the un-soled tracks with the midi controller knob. Way cool Cheers Jed
